HSE&#8217; prof. <a href=\"http:\/\/lcsr.hse.ru\/Ponarin\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Eduard D. Ponarin<\/strong><\/a> set a special prize for the best entry about faith and religion in contemporary Russia conducted with the help of qualitative methods. <!--more-->Thus, all qualitative papers can both win first prize and special prize. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sreda.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/ponarin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/sreda.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/ponarin.jpg\" alt=\"\u043f\u043e\u043d\u0430\u0440\u0438\u043d\" width=\"300\" height=\"397\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-25366\" \/><\/a>Eduard Ponarin is the director of <a href=\"http:\/\/lcsr.hse.ru\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>LCSR (the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research)<\/strong><\/a> (St Petersburg), and a Professor at HSE in Saint-Petersburg at the Department of Sociology. By the way, young researchers can take part in his  <a href=\"http:\/\/lcsr.hse.ru\/announcements\/73919297.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>call for LCSR associate researchers.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor Ponarin holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Michigan, USA. The key topics of his research are nationalism, ethnicity and religiosity.
